Hardwork Lead Eduard Folayang To ONE Championship Title Shot

Eduard "The Landslide" Folayang of Baguio City's Team Lakay is set to go in a war with Shinya Aoki for a lightweight championship bout at ONE Championship: Defending Honor in Kallang, Singapore. Let us show our overwhelming support and do not miss this another epic battle on November 11, 2016.

On the co-main event of the recent ONE Championship 45, Eduard Folayang was a stopper for Adrian Pang's hope to fight for a lightweight belt. The Filipino warrior was announced as the winner by unanimous decision after the three rounds. There were many savage backfists and sidekicks thrown at Pang and was getting outscored by 'The Landslide'. The only chance for Pang to win by that time was to finish Folayang, but the aussie was unable to.

" Filipino fight fans have been waiting a long time for this one. Eduard Folayang has been with ONE Championship since the beginning and has performed at an extremely high level in his last couple of bouts. He is deserving of a title shot which he earned with Tetsuya Yamada and victories over Adrian Pang. Brandon "The Truth" Vera is the second Filipino champion when he knocked out Paul Cheng for the inaugural heavyweight championship fight last December at ONE Championship 36: Spirit of Champions in Manila. At ONE Championship 7: Return of the Warriors, Honorio Banario defeated fellow Baguio native Eric Kelly via TKO to become the first ever Filipino to win a world title in MMA.

His opponent, Eduardo Baez (23-5-2, 9 KOs), came in slightly lighter at 125.4 lbs. They will contest a 10-round main event. Leo is a former WBO super-bantamweight champion.
