Prediction: NLEX Road Warriors May Draw Blood, But Star Hotshots Will Advance to the Semis

Road Warriors vs Star HotShots Prediction

The Road of the Warriors has never been easy as the winding season of NLEX may come to a halt in the hands of Star HotShots.

NLEX Road Warriors have accomplished great heights this season and has proven to be a worthy and an improved team compared to its previous self. Coach Yeng Guiao has whipped his team into a contender as the young NLEX Road Warriors takes their success to the next level in this conference.

The quarterfinals series against their last conqueror Star will be a tough task as the Hotshots is now enjoying a late conference burst capturing two wins in their last games in the elimination giving them a much-needed twice to beat protection against NLEX Road warriors who may have ran out of gas late in the conference suffering two defeats in a row that dropped them to the 5th place of the conference.

Star and NLEX may be one of the stiffest battles in the quarterfinals as both teams showed that they have what it takes to make it all the way. Star Hotshots, who were expected to be one of the top teams came to life late in the conference while the Road Warriors have been proving many wrongs as they maintained a steady ascent to becoming one of the contenders.

However, the playoffs is a different ball game than the elimination round and this is where Star Hotshots may have an edge over the Road Warriors. Even with a fairly new import, Star Hotshots may have a slight edge with the right mix of veteran leadership and local stars that certainly would be a big factor in the critical minutes of the ball game.

In their last game, Simon, Lee, and Ramos torched the Warriors from the outside with the Stars shooting a combined 11/20 three-pointers as they escaped with the win giving them a much-needed boost and confidence against NLEX. Even with Maliksi out of the equation, the Star still packs a punch with local scoring and this will play a big factor in the ball game against Road Warriors who have depended on import scoring.

Kevin Alas, Larry Fonancier, and Alex Mallari need to step up in order to give them a chance of winning.  Mallari was inconsistent and shot 30% against NLEX.  Kevin Alas will have a big role in the match-up as every time he gets himself going, the Warriors usually wins.

The Road Warriors certainly got the fighting chance to win and may extend the quarterfinals to a knockout game but ultimately, we see Star Hotshots taking this series and advancing to meet the victor between Blackwater and Meralco in the semis.
