Steve Francis: From Franchise to Crisis, The Tragic Story of One of the Best Point Guard in the NBA

Whatever happened to Steve Francis?

Now at 40, Steve Francis is just a shade of what he was when he was playing in the NBA 15 years ago.

At the peak of his popularity and the money that he acquired during his 9-year NBA career, he must have been living the life and doing something great at this stage. Unfortunately though, it's far from that.

When Steve Francis entered the NBA, he immediately showed some attitude after publicly saying that he didn't want to play for the Grizzlies. The team which drafted him 2nd overall back in 1999.

He forced his way to a trade and ended up playing his rookie season with the Houston Rockets were he averaged 18 points per game out of the gate and continued to improve his game in the next four years until he had some issues with the coaching staff who ultimately pushed him out of the Rockets to Orlando were he may have briefly found a breath of fresh air until it happened again.

Steve Francis as great as he his on the court, may not be as professional off the court which prompted teams to ship him out to other teams and eventually out of the NBA.

Steve Francis' Life Issue

I was a fan of Steve Francis back in the days. He was a rookie of the year and a runner of to Vince Carter Slam dunk contest back in 2000. Surely, he is the ideal player that every fan would like to follow but he isn't really a good role model off the court especially now late in his life.

At 40, he has been arrested many times for burglary, to drugs and he has been in the wrong side of the news which is very saddening.

Steve Francis still has a lot of chance to turn his life around and we hope for the best for the former NBA All-Star.
