Painful Fact: LeBron James Can't Save the Cavs. Alone

Lebron James Cleveland Cavaliers

Despite the King's effort and greatness, the Cavs still lost Game 3 against Indiana

To begin with, the Cleveland Cavaliers were up by as much as 17 points. And yet they lost against the Indiana Pacers in Game 3 of their best-of-7 first round series. What was funny is the fact that the Cavs have every opportunity to put away the Pacers and yet, they vanished in the second half. And now most people would put the blame on LeBron James just because he wasn't able to lead the Cavs to another victory just like he did back in Game 2? This pundit isn't fond of LeBron James for some reasons but come on, folks let's give the man a break.

LeBron James has been playing like an MVP but he won't win it this season because James Harden and the Houston Rockets happened. LeBron James may be this generation best player but he isn't a god who can save the Cavs from their misery in just snap of his finger. No. He is not Thanos. LeBron may have been playing like a tireless superhero but at the end of the day, he's still a human being and yes, LeBron James needs help. Lots of it.

In Game 3 against the Pacers, LeBron James had 28 points, 12 rebounds, 8 assists, a steal, and a block, all in 42 minutes of LeBron action. He shot 10 for 22 from the field including 4 for 7 from the three-point line. In fact, his trey with 42 seconds left kept the Cavs within striking distance.

Nobody Else

Just like in Game 2, only three players from Tyronn Lue's roster have scored in double figures in Game 3. Next to LeBron James' 28 points is Kevin Love's 19 points. Then, George Hill's 13 points.

The rest of the Cavs?

  • JR Smith- 8 points (3 for 11 field goal shooting)
  • Rodney Hood- 8 points
  • Larry Nance Jr.- 6 points
  • Jeff Green- 6 points
  • Jordan Clarkson- 2 points
  • Kyle Korver- 0
You cannot expect the Cavs to go all the way to the NBA Finals if LeBron James is the lone wolf in Cleveland.

Conclusion

With all of the speculations regarding LeBron James' future up in the air, one cannot really blame if LeBron James decides to pack up and go elsewhere because he has been the Batman in the Cavs' supposedly Justice League. He has been the lone bright spot in the otherwise ugly season for the Cavs. And just like in the Justice League movie, LeBron James can't save the Cavs. Alone. Even if he wants to.
