Nets, Avery Johnson agree to deal

Marc Stein of ESPN.com reports that the Nets and Avery Johnson have reached a verbal agreement to make Johnson the team's head coach.

The Nets have long looked like the most likely destination for Johnson, the 2005 NBA Coach of the Year who last roamed the sideline for Dallas during the 2007-08 campaign.
