Boxing writers pick Manny Pacquiao over Mayweather

Although the much awaited fight between Filipino ring icon Manny Pacquiao and American Floyd Mayweather is still a signature away, fans and boxing writers have already picked the Filipino seven-weight-division title holder as the winner.

Pacquiao (51-3-2 win-loss-draw with 38 knockouts), according to site, has several reasons to knock out or beat Mayweather (41-0 with 25 Kos) in their proposed November 13 scheduled bout.

Some of the reasons are: Pacquiao fights for more than himself—for flag and country; Mayweather has never faced the speed and power combination that Pacquiao possesses; and the Filipino pound-for-pound king gets stronger in the later rounds.

The boxing site, which has million of comments from various fans all over the world, also mentioned that Mayweather will have difficulties with the southpaw style of Pacquiao—giving Manny an edge against Mayweather.

Brad Cooney of boxing site said that Pacquiao could score a tremendous knockout victory against Mayweather, who has never been in there against a guy of Pacquiao’s caliber.

Pacquiao’s speed is ridiculous, and he is a two handed punching machine,” he said. “Pacquiao’s punches have very bad intentions, and he throws a lot of them. Fighting Pacquiao is like someone throwing 30 running chainsaws at you at the same time.”

He even quoted Evander Holyfield in an interview that “It’s not always the guy that has the most skills that wins. It’s the guy with the most heart.”

“Manny throws so many punches that Floyd may not be able to defend against them for the full 12 rounds,” said Cooney. “Sooner or later the walls may begin to crumble, and the PacMan may crash the gate.”
