Perhaps Smart Gilas budget was cut down that is why they have to go down south and play basketball against lower level basketball teams or perhaps they just need more emotional game so they could feel good about themselves. Smart Gilas tune up against local teams in Cebu and Mandaue was a big hit however with full packed audience in the venues, it still proves that our National basketball team still got the charm to pull a good number of fans. Mandaue City Sports and Cultural Center and the the University of San Agustin Gym in Iloilo City are the venues.

Hopefully when this tour is done they will have enough money and enough moral to boost them to achieving their goals. Frankly the Azkals fever or Soccer mania is over shadowing basketball nowadays and with the support of network giant like ABS-CBN our local basketball league and the Smart Gilas basketball team needs a lot work so they could regain its full charms back.
