2013 FIBA Asia Championship, August 1 is just around the corner and I am all pumped up already to see our national team compete against the best of Asian basketball have to offer. I am extremely proud of what the Philippines have done so far in terms of preparations for the game, I think this is one of the best team ever assembled by the Philippines for sometime. What's commendable about this team is the support and the time that they received so far, hopefully with all of the attentions, training and financial supports they are able to prepare the best they can and are able to showcase what their team is made of this upcoming 2013 FIBA Asia Chanpionship that will be held in the Philippines.

Most basketball fans and even the player themselves say that this is the best team ever assembled because of the skills, strength, height, leadership etc, but I say more than all of those traits the current Philippine team have the heart. It has always been a trait of Filipino's and with all of these combined I know that we have a good chance of taking it all the way to the Championship.

Expectation are high for this team, one thing is for sure winning means a lot to this team and they will sacrifice  to make every Filipino basketball fan proud. Go Gilas, Go Philippine Team, Laban Pilipinas!

The card, at the ProBox TV Events Center in Plant City, Florida, is led by two featherweights attempting to climb the rankings Angelo Leo (23-1, 11 KOs), who trains out of Las Vegas, Nevada, made weight at 125.8 lbs. His opponent, Eduardo Baez (23-5-2, 9 KOs), came in slightly lighter at 125.4 lbs. They will contest a 10-round main event. Leo is a former WBO super-bantamweight champion. He is riding a three-fight winning streak; his past two fights were broadcast on ProBox TV. Leo is ranked seventh by the WBA and 13th by the IBF.
