During vigorous training, athletes often sacrifice sweat and blood. This also happens in real fights, but not often.
The Balikan13 ”Pathway to Greatness” was an event that exhilarated the audience, bringing about an atmosphere of excitement.
The event made athletes of various weight classes to compete in mixed styles of martial arts.
The bouts were composed of 20 matches. The matches started easily, with the first few rounds having athletes that lacked finesse. There were fights that were stagnant and boring. Nonetheless, the athletes made up for it with enthusiasm.
As the bouts went on, athletes that were "cool under fire" started to reveal themselves. Their prowess brought enthusiastic yells from coaches and fans alike. The fighters were whirlwinds, each one attempting to outdo the other.
After each bout, the decisions of the judges were revealed. Most of the bouts were concluded at draws. A few managed to win and snag a package of Swift Hotdogs.
The few who won either did so by unanimous decision of the judges, or by technical knockout and/or stoppage.
The main event was obviously saved for last. It was about like any other, for 3 rounds, lasting 3 minutes. What made it different was the vigor of the fighters. The fighters were simply too professional. Even though the fight was slow paced, there were moments in it that made up for the stagnancy.
In the end of it all, the victor won by unanimous decision.
Although, there was also another decision inside the ring, but not one relating to fighting.
After the main event, the victor proposed to his girlfriend. The girl decided to say yes. It was a good day for the athlete, for he won two things that day. He won an MMA match, and his girlfriend's hand in marriage.
