Matakevich receives honor from Temple as Athlete of the Month for the month of October

Tyler Matakevich, a Temple senior college football player, was recently honored last Sunday as the Temple Athlete of the Month for the month of October.
The linebacker led Temple to a 7-0 start this season, the best beginning to an Owls' football season in school history. Temple is currently ranked 21st in the country in college football by the Associated Press and is currently 8-1 on the year with a 60-40 win over SMU in its last game.
This season is the first college football season Temple has been nationally ranked in 36 seasons.
Matakevich has 433 career tackles at Temple, which is the best among active college football players. He has also become a semifinalist for the Chuck Bednarik Award given to the best defensive player in the country in college football.
