Yamanaka and Liborio Solis trades Knockdowns in WBC title match;Ganigan Lopez defeats Yu Kimura to claim title

Japanese Shinsuke Yamanaka (25-0-2,17) recovers from 2 knockdowns to record 10th defense of his title yesterday night in at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo Japan. WBC Bantamweight champion Shinsuke Yamanaka was dropped twice in round 3 by Liborio Solis but recovered well to defeat the challenger 117-107 on all 3 cards. Whilst he was dropped twice himself, Yamanaka also secured two knockdowns, one in round 2 and one in round 9, himself.

In co main event hometown favorite Yu Kimura suffers MD loss to Ganigan Lopez-Lopez was too good for the Japanese fighter over the 12 rounds and a well deserving winner for the WBC Light Flyweight title. Kimura started well but Lopez adapted and took a clear win. The scores were 119-109, 118-110, 114-114

Another bout in the undercard was Shuya Masaki vs tough Filipino Vergil Puton.
Filipino fighter Vergil Puton put in a brave effort yesterday night in Japan though came up short in an all action bout with the highly touted Shuya Masaki. The scores cards made this one look one sided but it really wasn't and Puton gave everything he had to give Masaki a genuine gut check.
