5 Things Ginebra should do to finally win a Championship

The Barangay Ginebra San Miguel has not yet won a championship for the past 8 years in the PBA. Fans have been waiting and hoping that they'll finally get the crown and emerge as kings of the league again. Although this team has a line up of talented players under the supervision of the winningest coach in the PBA history, they still come up short every conference. Many of you might wonder "what is missing in this team?". To give you an answer, here is my list of things that Ginebra should do.

1. Be Patient

In the commissioner's cup of the PBA, their mastery of the triangle offense have been significant in their wins. I can say that they have mastered the triangle for about 80%. But still they just have to continue their progress. If they continue to stick with it for the next conferences, they will be a very deadly team that opponents should be aware of.

2. Fill the wing position

It is very evident that they lack scoring from the 2 and 3 positions. Mark Caguioa can contribute with his defense and hustle, but his scoring this conference have been lower since he embraces his new role in the team. Aside from that, Chris Ellis has been struggling in scoring and shooting. Also, take note that Ginebra is 11th in 3 point shooting this conference. If they don't fill these positions, they will find a hard time to stop teams like San Miguel Beermen and Alaska Aces.

3. Improve their team chemistry

This team should really avoid trading a lot of players and changing coached often. It breaks their team chemistry and gives the players a hard time of mastering their plays. They started improving in this area of their game since Coach Tim Cone took over the head coach position. But still, you still have to improve if their is still space for it. It will also lessen their turnovers and have more chances to shoot the ball.

4. Bring back Japeth like it's hot

Japeth had his MVP-like conference in the 2013 Philippine Cup of the Philippine Basketball Association. They gained the 1st seed that conference with Japeth Aguilar playing spectacular basketball. He even drained the winning baskets twice, each against Talk n' Text and Meralco. If they can bring back that performance of Japeth, they will be more dangerous as a team.

5. The "Gineral" should take over

L.A. Tenorio is a very intelligent point guard who can score when the team needs him. He has been playing great this conference since he won the Best Player of the Game multiple times. In their latest loss against Talk n' Text, he have been held down to a poor performance. We can conclude that Tenorio has been a significant player in their wins. If he can't continue his fine play, Ginebra will be in great trouble.
