LAS VEGAS, NV March 31, 2016 World Series of Fighting – Global Championship (WSOF-GC) is the first American-based MMA organization to venture into the fastest growing major economy in the world, India.
WSOF Global – India will be launched as part of an agreement with Yoddha Fighting Championship, who will continue to focus nurturing homegrown talent and providing them with a platform to gain experience for the professional ranks, as well as launch established professional fighters to larger organizations across the globe. Two of India’s brightest talents, Yadwinder Singh (5-0) and Chaitanya Gavali (5-2), each competed for WSOF Global at their inaugural event in China in November 2015.
President of Yoddha Fighting Champiobship, Jitendra Khare, said "We believe that India has a huge potential in terms of MMA prospects, but needs exposure and work at the grass-root level to produce world class MMA athletes. Yoddha FC has been working for the last 18 months to provide a platform for amateur fighters to not only develop and showcase their talent but also to gain experience that would help them make the transition to professional level. A global organization like WSOF-GC, by partnering up with YFC, has shown interest in developing MMA in India from the ground up. This is a huge boost for the entire MMA scene in India. Indian MMA fighters will now have a clearer career path of progression to a world class promotion."

Yoddha Fighting Championship is currently finishing up a 16-man elimination tournament in each of several weight classes. The Semi Finals are scheduled for May in Bhubaneswar with the Finals set for Mumbai in June.
