Tapales-Sor Singyu WBO World title Clash
23 year-old Filipino Marlon "Nightmare" Tapales. The WBO Bantamweight world mandatory challenger for Puangluang Sor Singyu's WBO Bantamweight World title is set to face each other on June 17th in Sor Singyu's mother land, Thailand.
Lanao del Norte native Marlon Tapales with a record of 28 wins- 2 defeats 11 KO's earns title shot after his impressive 2nd round Knock Out victory over previously unbeaten Japanese Shoshei Omori. Tapales caught Omori with a power right hook, sending the unbeaten Japanese to the canvas with the referee stopping the fight at 1:35 of the second round last December 16th in Kyoto Japan.
26 year-old Sor Singyu of Thailand a veteran of 55 fights will defend his World title for the third time against Tapales. Sor Singyu is coming off six straight wins since losing to Tomoki Kameda by KO at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas last 2014. Sor Singyu is 16-0 against Filipinos including TKO victory to AJ Banal to claim his first world title, Rey Megrino and his last title defense against also a Filipino Jethro Pabustan.
