Gilas Pilipinas v Iran tune-up gives glimpse of what is ahead in FIBA Olympic Qualifying tournament

Manila, Philippines - Gilas Pilipinas gave a glimpse of what the team would look like for the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament on July. Gilas tops Iran, 81-70, in a game which ended in a thriller as they almost blew away their lead in the fourth quarter.

Bobby Ray Parks and Terrence Romeo served as the fire starter for Gilas.  Terrence Romeo showed his impressive ball handling skills and putting a show for fans as he crossed up his defenders during some of his isolation plays. Parks showed his athleticism with his powerful drives to the basket and a dunk in one of the fast-breaks. Both scored double digits as Terrence Romeo scored 12 points while Bobby Ray Parks finishes the game with 11 points.

Andray Blatche also showed good signs for Gilas as he performed well for the team scoring a game high of 20 points and pulling 11 rebounds. He also had a block during the closing minutes of the game which sealed the game for Gilas.

One of the notable players of the game was Ryan Reyes who shot 4 out of 5 beyond the three point. Ryan Reyes served as the guy to find when Gilas needs an option for a three point shot or a run. Another notable player is Japeth Aguilar who showed his improved mid-range shot and confidence during the game. Both Reyes and Aguilar players finishes the game with 12 points.
