Pinoy boxer set to fight in Kovalev vs Chilemba co-main event

Filipino boxer Leonardo Doronio is set to fight under Unified Middleweight champion Sergey Kovalev title defense against Isaac Chilemba in Ekaterinburg, Russia on July 11. Doronio will face undefeated Russian Pavel Malikov (7-0,1) for the vacant WBC Asian Boxing Council Silver lightweight title.
27 year-old Leonardo "Toto" Doronio whose record is not so good 15 wins 10 via stoppages 12 losses and 3 draws is a former WBA PABA lightweight champion. He won the title last November 2015 by stopping crowd favorite Taiwo Ali in Bangkok Thailand. He is coming off a controversial a Split Decision defeat against Mexican Nery Sanguillan. He is also a former sparring partner of Manny Pacquiao when the 8 division boxing superstar was preparing for Brandon Rios,
As for Pavel Malikov whose unbeaten but only 1 win came from a stoppage will be tested against the tough Filipino fighter.
