Two Filipino boxers Raymond Tabugon and Jerry Castroverde will try their luck in East London, Eastern Cape South Africa on July 29th when they fight South African for WBO and IBF titles.
Raymond Tabugon (18-4-1,8) who has scored a decision victory in the same venue beating local boxer Luzuko Siyo to claim the IBO Intercontinental title last December 2014. Tabugon is also the reigning Philippine Superflyweight titlist he won the title in his last outing against Renante Suacasa.Tabugon will challenge the IBF Continental Africa champion Makozole Tete (15-1-1,10). Makazole is the older brother of world rated Zolani Tete. He won the IBF IC African title by knocking Ramadhan Kumbele of Tanzania in 1st round on June 17.
In the same card South African crowd will see another S,African - Filipino rivalry. 19-year old Filipino Jerry Castroverde (9-2,5) will battle against Aphiwe Mboyiya (13-2,6) for the vacant IBF Superfeatherweight Africa title. Castroverde knew that he needs to score a knock out to take home the vacant IBF Superfeatherweight title in Philippines.
“I really need a knockout because if this goes by decision I know the judges won't give it to me,” said Castroverde.
