gave the Philippines its first silver medal in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
Diaz, 25, made history for the Philippines as she broke a 20-year
medal drought of the Philippines in the Olympic
by securing a silver medal in the women's 53-kg weightlifting division of the
2016 Summer Games early Monday morning.
A native of Zamboanga City, Diaz becomes the first
female athlete to win an Olympic medal for the Philippines.
