Senator Manny Pacquiao's artist Jun Aquino is the first Filipino to receive West Coast Boxing Hall of Fame Award

Aquino who is the personal painter of Filipino boxing icon Senator Manny Pacquiao
and a member of Henry Armstrong Foundation,Incorporation is the first Filipino to receive
West Coast Boxing Hall of Fame Award in Art of Boxing category.
Aquino,
who served as editorial cartoonist of the defunct Philippine Free Press for 25
years posted his message on his social media account:
"Never in my wildest dream that one day ill be receiving an
award for my boxing art together with the hall of famer and legends of boxing
in America on Sept 2016. Thank you Dear God for this gift. Thanks to my friends
in USA (you know who u are) Henry Armstrong foundation, and friends for
supporting me. In advance, i dedicate this award to E.Z. Izon the man who
trained me to follow his footsteps and my mother who always believe in my art
since i was 6 and to my dearest wife Melody and son Kyle. This is for
you...This is the award i will treasure forever.To God be the glory!"
Other inductees are Bobby Chacon, Mike Weaver, Lucia Riker, Israel
Vasquez, Tony “The Tiger” Lopez, Henry Armstrong, Armando Ramos, Jerry Quarry,
Fidel LaBarba, Genaro Hernandez, Aileen Eaton, Jose Sulaiman, his son Maurcio,
and William O’Neill will be inducted September 25 at the Garland Hotel Event
Center in North Hollywood, CA.
The West
Coast Boxing Hall of Fame is dedicated in upholding the integrity, accuracy and
memory of the great fighters of the past.
