NLEX has been identified as one of the struggling teams in the PBA having been one of the bottom teams in the standings in the past few conferences being the playoffs to be the highest achievement that the team has ever reached. A team loaded with talented players from point guards to their front liners, this team is off to a good season after this Finals series between Ginebra and Meralco with the surprising move of one of the listed successful coach in the league behind Tim Cone.

Yeng Guiao has been calling the shots for Rain or Shine for 6 years after coming to a decision to grab a standing offer of the NLEX Road Warriors under the umbrella of the MVP Group of companies. Guiao has been successful in terms of steering the team well into the Championship this year grabbing their 2nd Championship crown in their franchise history. Teams like Rain or Shine is one of the known bad boys in the hard court not literally as they became one of the toughest defenders in the league giving away playoffs-like fouls that made a great result through out the years since they've entered the Asia's biggest basketball tournament.

With the current roster of NLEX loaded with guards like Kevin Alas and veterans filled line up like Asi Taulava, this team will be expected to have a good start though adjustments are still being considered as new systems will be implemented in terms of offensive and defensive approach.
