Ginebra ends eight year title drought, stuns Meralco via Brownlee buzzer-beater

The long wait is over.

The Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings have finally risen from down deep as they win their first PBA Championship after eight long years of redemption.

And it was Justin Brownlee who shone the brightest as he knocked down a deep buzzer beating trey, to hand down Ginebra's first championship after long years of seeking to get up again in the league.

Everyone was expecting that the match would reach the overtime period, however, Brownlee calmly shoot the ball from afar in front of Meralco's Allen Durnham, who scored poorly in the whole game.

Before the series has been concluded, the Bolts almost have the chance to delay Ginebra's winning moment, but the aggressive Gin Kings were able to cut down the double-digit deficit and overtake the Meralco lead as Brownlee used the board to make a fade-away shot.

However, LA Tenorio, paced the locals with  25 points six assists and five rebounds. He was also declared as the Finals MVP with an average of 17.2 markers, 4.2 assists and 3.8 boards.

On the other hand, Durnham, who went explosive all series long, except in Game two, had his worst finals output with only 15 points.

Meanwhile, Chris Newsome led the locals for the Bolts with 19 points, while Hugnatan has 12.
