Mayweather's protege Gervonta "Tank" Davis is now Boxing's youngest champion!



22 year-old Gervonta "Tank" Davis of Baltimore became today's youngest boxing world champion when he claim the IBF Super featherweight world title by beating Puerto Rico's Jose Pedraza in Brooklyn New York.

Davis (17-0,16) who is fighting under Mayweather Promotions dominated the first three round against the previously unbeaten and Puerto Rico's only world champion Jose "Sniper" Pedraza and hurt the champion in the 6th round with a bodyshot. In the 7th round Davis landed a clean right hook that sent Pedraza down. The referee stops the fight at 2:36 of the seventh round.

”Floyd told me to stay calm and I studied Floyd when he was Pretty Boy. My uppercut was my best shot and it was landing all night. It felt really good to fight the way I did. I showed I could take it and dish it out. That’s how you know I’m a real dog.” said Davis.

His promoter, Floyd Mayweather Jr.called him the future of boxing
