Chelsea 4-2 Stoke City
If there is any team that really dominated the league the last 12 games it will be Chelsea, having won 12 straight games. They find themselves now with six points lead over the second place team Liverpool. Chelsea are attempting to win 13 straight games when they host Stoke City. In the 34th minute the Blues took the lead from a Gary Cahill header who perfectly timed the corner kick to head the ball in the back of the net to make it 1-0 for Chelsea. In the the 46th minute the Potters equalized from a Bruno Martins Indi goal who tapped in the ball from a headed assist by Peter Crouch to make it 1-1. In the 57th minute Willian scored inside the box from a 1 touch pass by Eden Hazard which Willian curled on the top left corner of the goal. In the 64th minute Peter Crouch equalized for Stoke City after a messy sequence of play inside the box. However just 1 minute later Willian scored his second of the game from a Fabregas through ball to put Chelsea in front for the 3rd time in the game. Then in the 85th minute the league's top scorer Diego Costa ensured that there will be no more Stoke City equalizer has he put Chelsea two goals in front and make it a 4-2 for the Blues who now won 13 out of the 13 games.
Manchester United 2-1 Middlesbrough
A big game for Manchester United as they try to win their 5th win a row and slowly reduce the gap between them and 5th place Tottenham. However in the 67th minute Grant Leadbitter put Boro in front 1-0 after a great header assist from his teammate which he slots in low towards the left corner. With 5 minutes left the Boro fans are starting to believe that they can steal a win at Old Trafford against Manchester United. However the Man United fans once again experienced the classic Man United from the Alex Ferguson days when they are experts of coming back from defeat to winning with little time left on the clock. Anthony Martial equalized in the 85th minute after a great headed assist by Zlatan Ibrahimovic to make it 1-1. Then after just 72 seconds the Red Devils were up 2-1 thanks to a Paul Pogba headed goal and steal the match away from Middlesbrough.
Liverpool 1-0 Manchester City
After Chelsea's win earlier in the day. The pressure is on for the 2nd place team Liverpool and 3rd place team Manchester City to once again reduce the lead of Chelsea on the top of the table. As some parts of the world are already on the year 2017. This match will be the last match of 2016 in England, and it was a potentially great way to end the year with both teams going for a win this match was expected to be a goal fest, since both teams are known for scoring goals every game since the start of 2016. Wijnaldum gave the fans the glimpse as why this match is expected to be a goal fest as he put Liverpool ahead 1-0 after just 8 minutes.
