NLEX vs Global Port and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Shooting Night
No matter what you read from other news articles, there is no sugar coating how bad these teams are playing this conference and how ugly this game was.
85-82 Global Port escaped with the win tonight against NLEX Road Warriors. A low scoring ball game that could be attributed to great defense but not for these teams.
These teams are the early outliers of the PBA. they are still trying to find the right formula to be in tip top shape to compete with the rest of the group.
Take note: NLEX Road Warriors Field goal percentage is 34% while Global Port is 36%, there is no way these type of shooting would win you a game against anyone else.
Road Warriors got a great import with Wayne Chism but it looks like they needed superman tonight to take the rest of the team, and that ain't Chism. Even if he already scored 40 points on a 9/22 shooting ( 40%) there is just no way he can carry a team if the rest of the players are shooting at a disastrous rate of 31% (21/66).
Don't get me started with Global Port.
It was a tough game, I feel like, everybody was missing shots. - Stanley Pringle
Yes, everybody was missing shots and especially him. Pringle scored 15 points but it was a direful shooting for him as well at 26% ( 5/19). Including four attempts at the three point line that was all bricked.
Oh! Romeo! Terrence Romeo was 3/12 ( 25%). I don't know if there are other adjectives to describe how dreadful of a shooting night it is for the players tonight. I feel really bad that I have used so many negative words writing this.
It was a good thing that White had a great shooting night at 50% (9/18). Bravo!
Global Port was the lesser evil tonight, hence the win, because NLEX was just playing worse.
Global Port is now 1 win with 5 losses while the Road Warriors is still finding that elusive win. They are the only winless team left.
I feel really bad pointing out how atrocious the game was tonight. We can probably build a house with all the brick shots. Well, at least one team got the win tonight and hopefully, it made them feel better, or did it?
