A Week Away From CRAWFORD-DIAZ Fight But Who is FELIX DIAZ?



One week away from Terrence "Bud" Crawford title defense against Felix Diaz in MSG New York. The fight will be televised by HBO on May 20th 

Unified WBO-WBC Super light weight title holder Terrence Crawford (30-0,21) of Omaha Nebraska will try his charisma to fight in bigger venue this time in the "Mecca of Boxing" Madison Square Garden where many great champions fought. The fight will also serve as his first fight in 2017 and his debut in Madison Square Garden.

But many boxing fans did not even know who Felix Diaz  is and his worth to fight against one of the best boxer of today's era. 

Diaz is a 33-year old boxer of Santo Domingo,  Dominican Republic with a boxing record of 19 wins 9 by the way of knockouts and only one defeat. These numbers will not give casual boxing fans interests and will conclude that this fight will be easy one for Bud Crawford. 


WHO IS FELIX DIAZ?

Avid boxing fans believe that Diaz is the black horse of of the division. He is a little known but he has the skills to beat any of big names in his division. Felix Diaz or Felix Manuel Diaz Guzman is a two-time Olympian who won gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games in the Light welterweight division. Díaz was the first Dominican athlete to win Olympic gold. The only blemish on his record was a highly controversial 12-round welterweight majority decision defeat to two-division world champion Lamont Peterson in 2015. Díaz bounced back from that loss with a unanimous decision victory against previously undefeated contender Sammy Vasquez in July 2016 and sixth-round TKO win of Levis Morales in December 2016. He is currently rated no. 3 in WBC ranking.
