Davao Aguilas FC: Get to Know More About Andreas Campallo Esswein
Football here in the Philippines is now an official professional licensed sport after Games and Amusement Board Chairman Abraham Kahlil B. Mitra signed the certificates for the first ever Philippine Football League last May 2, at the Games and Amusement Board office.
Players from different teams came to the press conference at the Legazpi Tower, for the very first professional Philippine Football League (PFL) as they represented their own respective football clubs. One of the players who attended was the half German, half Filipino Davao Aguila player, Andreas Compalla Esswein.
He was born on January 26, 1997 at Bruchsai, Germany. Started playing football in a midfield central position at the age of 16 and had gone through several teams starting from SV Waldhof Mannheim U19 in 2014 and FC Spöck in 2015 which was both in Germany, Global Cebu FC which won the championship last year and now currently playing for Davao Aguilas' Football Club.
In a short interview, he was asked what his plans are for his future career. He quickly responded that he aims for a spot in the Philippine Azkals. According to him, that was his main target as of now.
The other teams which are currently under the Philippine Football League are Ceres-Negros Football Club, Global Cebu Football Club, Ilocos United Football Club, JP Voltes Marikina Football Club, Kaya Football Club-Makati, Meralco Manila Football Club and Stallion Laguna Football Club.
