SIC Shirts Clothing at Manila Sneaker Expo, A Brand of Passion.

It was a great experience getting along with different sneaker enthusiasts and streetwear fanatics in Manila Sneaker Expo 2017.

Getting through the crowd of sneakerheads there are these new and upcoming brands that you may not know existed. They have the sickest concepts and designs and the minds behind it are too passionate about what they do. One of these brands is SIC shirt clothing line, a very simple kind of brand that makes you wanna ask yourself "why?", "why are they so passionate about getting into the streetwear industry?". Luckily we had the chance to talk to the owner of SIC, Mr. Jeosh Gutierrez, and asked him questions about the streetwear industry and many more..

I am personally curious about the name of the brand so I asked why he came up with it.

"SIC stands for Stunning impresive  Clothing. Came up with the name because in our culture now a days when we see something nice or something cool we tend to use "Sick" or "that's Sick" . I want my customers to have an impression that whenever they wear my brand their fit will be SIC and will stand out the crowd." Mr. Gutierrez explained.

It make sense now that the reason why this clothing line is now emerging to the top is because it has a back story and somehow gives a lot of people the curiousity on why they have this kind of name,it's a kind of topic that you wanna share with your peers when you talk about streetwear.

Streetwear scene has been booming in the country right now and we asked SIC's owner about how he see the current streetwear game in the country.

"It's great more and more brands are uprising the likes of Sole stax Urbanwear, Caerus Clothing ,DBTK , Drone ,  ,Daedelus LTD ,Goons, Progress and a lot to mention. Hopefully one day one of the brands here in the Philippines will be recognized internationally and can compete with such famous brands like Supreme, ASSC , The life of Pablo etc."

With so much excitement on how the scene will turn out in to, SIC's owner sees the industry to get it's place in the hype market one day and hopes for the best for every brand and probably getting their own into that level of branding.

In this kind of country, streetwear has not been so easy to sell to the masses, so we asked Mr. Gutierrez about the inspiration that made him get into this kind of business.

"Simple I like to wear shirts ! I used to buy shirts almost three times a month just for me not to wear the same shirt over and over again for such night outs and parties and believe me it costs a lot to do that . One day I thought of why not make something that I can wear and be the only one who has that design. My friends told me that the design is cool it's lit and very unique . They asked me to print shirts for them so basically my very first customers for the SIC og logo tee are friends and families. A lot of people has requested to have atleast a piece since they saw pics of myself and friends wearing the shirt on Facebook , Instagram and Twitter. Its an overwhelming feeling for me when people tend to order and reconize the brand itself."

With the kind of inspiration and drive that Jeosh and SIC brand is showing out in the open, he and other brands are the ones who will slowly emerge and make this culture known to the market and make people aware that streetwear is not only a fashion trend, it is a lifestyle. And his message to those aspiring clothing brands and people who are planning to get into this kind of business?

"Never give up chase your dreams. Don't stop until you reach your ultimate goal. Be influencial to the people who buy your clothes to support local streetwear brands always."

Being successful isn't a one-two-punch combo and it requires hardwork, passion and dedication on what you do, Mr. Jeosh Gutierrez of SIC Shirts is one great example of an individual who strives to bring the culture up while loving what he do.
