Cavs was again defeated by a short-handed powerhouse.
They were shamed by a Curryless Golden State Warriors not long ago this season. Now, they bowed down against the Kawhi-less San Antonio Spurs.
It is not just Kawhi that was missing in action for the Spurs but also Manu Ginobili. Two key players were down yet the 3rd team on the western end prevailed over the hungry Cavs.
What could've been the reasons beneath the deteriorating Cavs' intensity?
There could be a bunch of reasons but we could discuss only some of which interest would be on point just like this one.
LeBron hits 30 000 career points. Though entering the game with only 7 points left to earn another career achievement, stakes are high that LeBron's mental condition is to score more buckets than usual. Why? Of course, 7 points would not be explosive despite him hitting 30 000 so obviously, he wants some more light within him to be emitted even brighter and he does. James had 28 points but aside from him, nobody in the Cavs jersey hit above 20 points.
Even the starter JR Smith finished scoreless after playing 29 minutes.
Cavs had higher turnovers as compared to Spurs. They had 18 while SA with only 10. Unsurprisingly, it was LeBron who became the main contributor with 5 turnovers.
It was great on the part of the winner, Spurs. They managed to overthrow a huge team even without Ginobili and Leonard.
It is very ironic that the Cavs full of key role players were defeated by the seemingly typical form of basketball Spurs were that time.
A not so good season currently for the Cavs. They kept being stopped thus losing their near grip for the number one spot in the east while there is all the good news for Spurs which is also on the chase.
