Lassiter added that Standhardinger needs to show up and play

San Miguel isn't unstoppable. Even with Christian Standhardinger arriving for the mid-season Commissioner's Cup.

That is according to Marcio Lassiter.

Just a few moments after the San Miguel Beermen clinch their 4th straight Philippine Cup championship after erasing a 23-point deficit in Game 5 of their best-of-7 series against the Magnolia Hotshots, the idea of seeing top pick, Christian Standhardiner, play alongside June Mar Fajardo and the rest of the Beermen is already in the air but apparently, the idea of having Christian Standhardinger will make the Beermen unstoppable doesn't amaze everyone in the Beermen, particularly Marcio Lassiter.

Lassiter, the most consistent player of San Miguel all throughout the championship, said that the arrival of top pick Christian Standhardinger, who is currently playing in the ABL, will automatically make the Beermen, a championship team. Sure, the Beermen are the defending champions heading into the Commissioner's Cup but one thing that Lassiter insisted is that the Beermen will have to live up to the hefty expectations that came along when they received the rights to pick Standhardinger from a controversial trade with then, Kia Picanto which is now known as the Columbian Dyip.

Lassiter, who had 16 points but missed all of his 9 shots from deep in the clinching game, added that although he hasn't met Standhardinger, he already heard that the rookie is a great player and that he has seen him play in the ABL. However, he insisted that maybe the Beermen are that good on paper with Standhardinger on board but Standhardiner will need to show up and prove his worth that he is more than just the hype.

Conclusion

There's a bigger question here: Will Christian Standhardinger fit into a Beermen team that is already loaded in its frontline? There's no question that he can produce decent numbers as he has averaged 23 points and 11 rebounds in the ABL this season. If Standhardinger can play alongside the Kraken, then that can definitely make the Beermen, unstoppable.
