CHARLY SUAREZ AIMS TO SHOCK THE WORLD AND REIGNITE PHILIPPINES VS MEXICO RIVALRY AGAINST EMANUEL NAVARRETE IN SAN DIEGO

San Diego Showdown: Charly Suarez Looks to Make History Against Emanuel Navarrete in Mexico vs. Philippines Title War

Unbeaten Filipino star Charly Suarez is ready to ignite the flames of a historic rivalry as he challenges Mexico’s Emanuel “Vaquero” Navarrete for the WBO Junior Lightweight World Title this Saturday at Pechanga Arena in San Diego.

The legendary boxing rivalry between the Philippines and Mexico enters a new chapter as Olympic veteran and undefeated contender Charly “King’s Warrior” Suarez (18-0, 10 KOs) steps into the spotlight to face three-division world champion Emanuel Navarrete (39-2-1, 32 KOs). The highly anticipated title clash headlines a stacked card promoted by Top Rank and will be broadcast LIVE on ESPN, ESPN Deportes, and ESPN+ at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT.

Suarez, one of the Philippines’ most decorated amateurs and now a fast-rising force in the pros, is confident and spiritually grounded as he prepares for the biggest night of his boxing career.

Charly Suarez: “I prayed for this fight. And here it is. The opportunity has come, and I have taken it. And we won’t lose.”

Coming into enemy territory, Suarez carries not only his unblemished record but also the pride of his nation. With elite footwork, ring IQ, and a chip on his shoulder, Suarez is out to shock the world and claim the WBO belt from Navarrete — right in the Mexican warrior’s second home of San Diego.

Suarez added: “This is a good opportunity for me to represent my country and to show the world that Filipinos are good at boxing and that Filipinos and Mexicans put on great fights.”

Navarrete, known for his relentless pressure and awkward power shots, is looking to bounce back after a tough loss in his lightweight title bid against Denys Berinchyk. Back at 130 pounds, he plans to defend his throne — but he knows Suarez isn’t just any challenger.

Navarrete: “We know that Suarez is coming for my title. So I want a great fight so everyone can see I’m ready to continue on the path of victory.”

With Mexico and the Philippines having shared countless legendary battles — from Pacquiao vs. Morales to Donaire vs. Arce — Suarez vs. Navarrete promises to deliver another memorable war for fans worldwide.

Undercard Highlights:

  • Co-main event: Rising lightweight contender Raymond Muratalla (22-0, 17 KOs) faces dangerous Russian puncher Zaur Abdullaev (20-1, 12 KOs) for the vacant IBF interim lightweight world title.

  • Andres Cortes (22-0, 12 KOs) looks to stay unbeaten in a 10-round junior lightweight bout against Spain’s Salvador Jimenez (14-1-1, 6 KOs).
