PERTH, AUSTRALIA — Dragon Fire Boxing kicks off its 2026 calendar in emphatic fashion as Thunderdome 53 takes over the Metro City Arena on Friday, March 13, featuring a stacked fight card highlighted by the return of heavyweight prospect “Big Bad” Michael Bazley.
Bazley made a statement performance at Thunderdome 52, stealing the spotlight with his power and presence inside the ring. Now, he’s back — and eager to deliver another show-stopping performance in front of the Perth crowd.
🥊 Who Is “Big Bad” Michael Bazley?
By day, Bazley works as a real estate agent, helping people secure some of the most important moments of their lives. By night, he transforms into a heavyweight fighter who lets his fists do the talking.
“By day I’m a real estate agent, helping people and being part of some of the highlights of their lives. By night I’m in the ring, talking with my lefts and rights instead of words,” Bazley shared.
“I’m ambitious and I believe in a never-say-die attitude. Whether it’s in the ring or in life, I give everything every time.”
Bazley’s journey into boxing is deeply personal. Growing up around instability and hardship, he turned to the sport as a means of self-defense, discipline, and purpose. What began as one session per week quickly evolved into a full commitment.
“I wanted to be strong enough to hold my ground and protect the people I care about. One session turned into six. Even though the person who pushed me to that point passed away before I could confront the past, the fire to keep fighting has never left me.”
🥇 Inspired by Greatness
Among Bazley’s biggest influences is legendary boxer Thomas “The Hitman” Hearns — a fighter known for combining intelligence, precision, and devastating power.
“Hearns was never in a boring fight. His jab would bring you in, and before you knew it, the right hand could shut the lights out. But it wasn’t just power — it was how smart and calm he was in the ring. That’s the kind of fighter I strive to be.”
🎯 Big Goals for 2026
Bazley enters 2026 with clear objectives: personal growth, championship ambitions, and putting Western Australian boxing on the map.
“I want to show what fighters from WA can do. The east coast has always had more attention, and I hope to bring more focus and opportunities to boxing here.”
His goals for the year are ambitious but grounded in purpose.
“My goals for 2026 are to become the WA Heavyweight Champion, inspire others through my journey, and put on fights people will remember. Highlight-reel moments — that’s what fans come to see. And if the moment presents itself, I’ll take it.”
“Heavyweight champion and real estate agent — it sounds wild, but that’s me.”
