Angela and Christian Lee ready to rock Manila on December 11
Following her remarkable submission victory over Natalie Gonzales Hills in Singapore, ONE female strawweight standout, “Unstoppable” Angela Lee (3-0) of Evolve-MMA will be making her first appearance in Manila this December 11 at ONE: SPIRIT OF CHAMPIONS. Angela’s brother, Christian, will also be making his much-awaited professional mixed martial arts and ONE Championship debut.

Angela, who fights out of Waipahu, Hawaii but is of Singaporean descent, will square off with Lena Tkhorevska (3-1), one of Poland’s fastest rising mixed martial arts stars.

Tkhorevska is a versatile fighter, complete with a formidable stand-up and a solid ground game. She owns a knockout and a pair of submission victories on her professional record, and is a devastating striker.

Tkhorevska’s knockout victory over Maria Blaszczuk in 2013 is a testament to the power she possesses in her fists and is not for the squeamish.

Angela however is currently unbeaten since turning professional last May. Her rise to stardom in Singapore took the Lion City by storm as she quickly became one of the most popular fighters on ONE Championship’s growing roster.

Tkhorevska will have her hands full in trying to contain Angela, who has developed a knack for ending fights early with quickfire submissions.

Angela just concluded landing an ultra-rare Twister submission to finish her opponent at ONE: PRIDE OF LIONS. The Twister is rarely used successfully in competition and requires a high-level Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner to pull off.

Angela makes a quick turnaround for this bout, with just one month to go until fight night. Her appearance in Manila is a treat for all fight fans as Angela looks to increase her following.

Also on the card is Angela’s younger brother, Christian, who will be making his professional debut.

Christian will look to follow in his sister’s footsteps by debuting inside the ONE Cage. The 17-year old is a multiple-time Junior Pankration World Champion with a Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and was voted ‘Most Outstanding Athlete’ at the 2013 FILA World Championships after winning five world titles across the disciplines of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Pankration, MMA, and Submission Grappling.

Christian will face off with Australian fighter, David Meak (1-4) in a featherweight contest.
Both Angela and Christian come from a family of impressive martial artists. Before the two were accepted into the Evolve Fight Team, the most prestigious mixed martial arts gym in Asia, the siblings were both trained early on by their father, Ken Lee, who is a 6th degree Hapdosool (Combined Martial Arts) Master Black Belt and a Pankration, Taekwondo and Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt.

Their mother, Jewelz Lee, is a 5th degree TDS Black Belt instructor, a 5th degree Hapdosool Master Black Belt, 2nd degree Taekwondo Black Belt instructor and a 2-time Canadian National Silver Medallist.
Suffice to say, martial arts is simply in their blood.

Fans in Manila will get the chance to meet the two fighters during fight week.

ONE: SPIRIT OF CHAMPIONS is one of the most anticipated events in recent memory. The card is headlined by a colossal matchup heavyweights Brandon “The Truth” Vera and Chi Lewis “Chopper” Parry with the winner being crowned the inaugural ONE Heavyweight World Champion.

With Filipino fight fans always hungry for world-class MMA action, the Mall of Asia Arena is sure to be packed to the rafters.
