1 days left before we all witness such an exciting fight card “ Foreign Invasion” at the Makati Colleisum.

This event will showcase 12 bouts between foreign fighters and our local warriors.

How did you get into the world of combat sports?

# BEEN A MARTIAL ARTS PRACTITIONER SINCE MY TEENAGE YEARS. BOXING & TAEKWONDO, AS MUHAMMAD ALI & BRUCE LEE WERE THE IDOLS OF MY GENERATION.

*Do you have any combat background?

# NO COMBAT BACKGROUND IN THE RING OR CAGE. RETIRED US NAVY CHIEF & HAS SEEN REAL COMBAT IN THE BATTLEFIELD.

*Could you please tell us about the partnership with WSOF?

- How did it all begin?

# CONTRACT WAS SIGNED ON DEC 15, 2015. TRANSACTION TOOK LESS THAN A WEEK SINCE 1ST WEEK OF DEC 2015. VIA EMAIL. ALL UGB MMA DOCUMENTED EFFORTS WERE SEEN THRU FACEBOOK& YOUTUBE.

- How does the partnership work? 

# WE ARE LOCKED IN A 3 YR CONTRACT WITH WSOF. 

# WE WILL TRANSITION FROM OCTAGON TO DECAGON.

# WE ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE LIVE STREAMING FOR EVERY EVENT.

# WE ARE ALSO REQUIRED TO DO 6-8 EVENTS A YEAR.

-Do they lend some of their fighters; vice versa?

#  WSOF ALLOWS ALL OUR FIGHTERS WHO ARE UNDER CONTRACT TO FIGHT GLOBALLY. 

-Do they offer financial assistance for putting up a fight card?

# YES, THRU MANDATED SPONSORSHIP FROM THE USA.

- Is UGB ready to compete against local and international MMA Promotions?

# YES

*What are your initial plans?

# BE MORE AGGRESSIVE THAN THE LAST 2 YEARS. IF WE PRODUCED 18 EVENTS IN THE LAST 2 YEARS, UNDER THE NEW BANNER OF WSOF, YOU CAN EXPECT MORE IN THE NEXT 3 YRS OF THIS SAID CONTRACT.

*How can they join UGB? Is there a tryout?

# SINCE THERE IS NO DISCRIMINATION IN THE UGB, FIGHTERS CAN FREELY SUBMIT THEIR FIGHTER PROFILES TO OUR LOCAL & INTERNATIONAL MATCHMAKERS. UGB HAS BOTH AMATEUR & PRO LEAGUES. ALSO, BOTH LOCAL & INTERNATIONAL.

*Any qualifications?

# NONE FOR AMATEURS BUT SHERDOG OR TAPOLOGY RECORDS FOR THE PROS.

- What can they expect from this organization if they make it and let’s say they get the chance to banner the promotion?

# IT IS A STEPPING STONE FOR BELLATOR AND OR THE UFC.

* My colleague mentioned about your charitable work. Could you please tell us more about it?

# WE HAVE BEEN DOING CHARITY WORK FOR THE FIGHTERS FOR THE PAST 5 YEARS. WE HAVE A FIGHTER ORPHANAGE WHERE WE HOUSE FIGHTERS, FEED THEM, TRAIN THEM, CLOTHE THEM & ALL THE MONEY THEY MAKE IN OUR TOURNAMENTS, THEY GET TO KEEP 100%. IT IS SENT TO THEIR FAMILIES FOR SUPPORT.

- How do you help your fighters?

# WE HAVE DONE 18 EVENTS IN 2 YRS TIME. WE HAVE THE HIGHEST HONORARIUMS IN THE FIGHT INDUSTRY. SO, OUR FIGHTERS GET TO FIGHT FREQUENTLY.

Regarding the upcoming fight card “ Foreign invasion” on Jan 22 at The Makati coliseum. The main event between Brad Robinson against our very own Marl Palomar looks interesting.

#YES, IT DOES!

Brad has fought in other international promotion obviously, he has an edge in terms of international fighting experience but of course our very own Mark Palomar won’t just stand there and be moving punching bag.

*Could you let us know your thoughts on the main event?

# IF IT STAYS AT STAND-UP, MARK HAS THE EDGE. IF IT GOES TO THE GROUND, BRAD IS THE MAN!

Aside from the main event, of course,  the rest of the fights are also interesting. 

Local fighters against foreign fighters,  to me personally this is a good concept.  How did you come up with this?

# UGB'S CONCEPTS ARE ALWAYS OUTSIDE THE BOX. THIS IS JUST ONE OF THEM CRAZY IDEAS I DEVELOP IN MY FIGHT LEAGUE.

Could you please tell us your idea behind the " Foreign Invasion " fight card?

# IT IS ALREADY GETTING PRETTY OLD SEEING THE SAME PINOY FIGHTERS GOING AT IT IN THE LOCAL SCENE. THSI FOREIGN INVASION SERIES BRINGS SPICE & A DIFFERENT TWIST TO THE LOCAL FIGHT SCENE.
