Adidas prepares select HS players for excellence in its first Uprising Basketball Program in the Philippines

adidas welcomed select high school players to its first ever adidas Uprising in the Philippines, last May 19 at Xavier School.

adidas Uprising, the 3-Stripes brand’s summer basketball grassroots program, provides an exclusive platform for tomorrow’s a-list basketball players to foster their game and improve their skills, through hosting a series of tournaments and development camps.

“adidas Uprising has always been a much-anticipated program in the United States. More than cultivating loyalty to the brand, it’s designed to maximize the potential of the next generation of basketball superstars and creators. Knowing that basketball is a thriving sport in the Philippines, bringing adidas Uprising here seems like just the right move,” says Jen Dacasin, adidas Philippines Brand Communications and Sports Marketing Manager.

Titan and PBA veteran Nic Belasco have carefully selected top high school teams of private schools in Metro Manila to participate in the first adidas Uprising Philippines: La Salle Green Hills, Adamson University, University of Sto. Tomas, San Beda College Manila, San Beda College Alabang, Chang Kai Shek, Colegio de San Juan de Letran, Colegio de San Agustin, San Sebastian College, and National University.

Having been commissioned to coach the young athletes, Belasco says, “I see outstanding potential in all the teams we’ve selected for this program. adidas Uprising doesn’t just offer an avenue for the teams to hone their skills, it also strengthens their love, respect, and passion for basketball.”

Following a round robin tournament format, the elimination games will be held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays at 3PM in Xavier School. The semi-finals and finals will take place on June 1 and 2, respectively, in Kerry Sports.
