LOOK: Filipino Hidilyn Diaz bagged silver in the 2016 Rio

Hidilyn Diaz gave the Philippines its first silver medal in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

Diaz, 25, made history for the Philippines as she broke a 20-year medal drought of the Philippines in the Olympic by securing a silver medal in the women's 53-kg weightlifting division of the 2016 Summer Games early Monday morning.


A native of Zamboanga City, Diaz becomes the first female athlete to win an Olympic medal for the Philippines.
