Premier League results: Man City dropped points, North London Derby also ends with a stalemate, Man United, Chelsea and Liverpool with big wins

Coming into matchweek 11, the top five teams are only separated by three points. With Manchester City leading the way with 23 points, 2nd  Arsenal 23 points, 3rd Liverpool 23 points, 4th Chelsea 22 points and 5th Tottenham Hotspur with 20 points. With another set of fixtures coming all five teams are hoping to maintain its respective forms to stay in the hunt for the top of the table.


Manchester City 1-1 Middlesbrough

Man City was the first club from the top five teams to be in action and maintain hoping to win to relay the pressure to their other four rivals who will be in action long after them. The blues of Manchester did just that in the 43rd minute when Sergio Aguero scored an easy goal after slotting in a superb cross of Kevin de Bruyne to put the home side up 1-0 just minutes before the break. Man City are already heading to a win until Marten de Roon scored a great header goal in stoppage time to equalize the match and ensure that his team will get out of Manchester with a point. 

Chelsea 5-0 Everton

With Manchester City dropping points in their match, suddenly the other four teams are all in contention to be top of the table after all the matches have been played, but Everton also wants to join the tight competition on top since they are only two points behind the 5th place Tottenham. But in just 19 minutes Chelsea already revealed their intent to go on top of the table when Eden Hazard scored a goal after a fantastic executed counter attack. Then in the 20th minute they were already 2-0 up after once again executing a great counter attacking football this time it was Marcos Alonso who scored the goal from a Pedro low cross. In the 42nd minute just three minutes before the break Diego Costa scored a close range shot from a corner kick to make it 3-0. In the 56th minute Hazard scored his 2nd of the game after some great footwork to get away from his defense inside the box. Pedro scored the last goal of the game in the 65th minute when he the rebound of the keeper's save of Hazard's shot fell to him for an easy finish to end the game 5-0.

Arsenal 1-1 Tottenham Hotspur

With Chelsea on top coming in to the sunday's fixtures, the North London Derby is expected to be a fierce one as  Arsenal are looking to take the top of the table whileTottenham wants to put themselves closer to the other four teams. However  in the 43rd minute Kevin Wimmer put Arsenal on top 1-0 after scoring an own goal from a Mesut Ozil looping free kick. In the 51st minute Tottenham were awarded a penalty when Mousa Dembele was brought down on the box, Harry Kane scored from the spot kick to equalize the match. Both teams were unable to take the lead until the end of the match as the derby finished with a 1-1 draw.

Liverpool 6-1 Watford

After seeing all the results of their rivals on the top of the table. Its now on the hands of Liverpool whether they will be on top of the table after the match or not. Sadio Mane opened the scoring in the 27th minute when he headed in the cross from Philippe Coutinho from a short corner. Just three minutes later in the 30th minute Coutinho scored a goal of his own when he scored a bullet goal outside of the penalty box to put the Reds up 2-0. In the 43rd minute Emre Can scored a header goal from an Adam Lallana cross to put the home side up 3-0 before halftime. In the 57th minute Roberto Firmino joined to score fest when he scored Liverpool's 4th goal after tucking in another good cross from Lallana. Mane scored his second goal in the 60th minute when he also a simple finish in front of the keeper after Firmino who this assisted the goal to make it 5-0 for the home side. Daryl Janmaat however was able to score for Watford in the 75th minute after the defense of Liverpool were caught sleeping inside the box which he took full advantage of. However Georgino Wijnaldum restored the 5 goal lead of Liverpool when he followed up the rebound of the keeper's save on Sturridge's strike in the stoppage time.

Swansea 1-3 Manchester United

Despite not really on the top five teams this turned out to be a big match for Manchester United as record has been set during this match. Paul Pogba scored in the 15th minute with a screamer of a goal outside the box to put the Red Devils up 1-0. Then in the 21st minute history occurred when Zlatan Ibrahimovic after not scoring a goal for the last couple of games scored not only to make 2-0 in front for his team but also scored the 25,000th goal of the Premier League since its inception in 1992 after 22 teams separated themselves on the Football League to make a league of their own. Then in the 33rd minute Ibrahimovic scored his second and Man Utd's 3rd of the game. This is also a record but this a personal one as Zlatan scored his 400th goal in his career. Mike Van der Hoorn scored a consolation goal for Swansea in the 69th minute to end the match 3-1.

After all of the 10 matches has been played the top of the table has changed significantly with Liverpool leading the way this time with 26 points, 2nd Chelsea with 25 points, 3rd Manchester City with 24 points, 4th Arsenal with 24 points and Tottenham Hotspur in 5th with 21 points.
