Chris Hofmann Stops David Douglas, Retains URCC Middleweight Belt

Chris Hofmann successfully defended one of his two titles which was the middleweight on Friday, January 7 in Kezar Pavillion, San Francisco, CA at URCC 29: Conquest against David Douglas. The Filipino-Swiss Universal Reality Combat Championship fighter simultaneously holds two titles in two different weight classes.

Hofmann survived barrage of punches in 40 seconds by Douglas who nearly finished our kababayan during the opening round. Douglas started to slow which led Hofmann getting back to his feet. As soon as Hofmann put Douglas on the ground, he began unloading series of ground and pound and dominated his opponent. At 3 minutes 55 seconds of the first round, he finished David and capture the middleweight belt again! Is it just me or the referee didn't see enough to stop the bout earlier? The referee let it go on a little longer even if I see the fighter wasn't fighting back anymore. Just my opinion. But oh well, that was an impressive way to win a championship especially that Chris just won the belt two months ago which I think this fight came early. The Champ asked URCC though to book San Francisco fight during the post fight interview.

On Nov 6 2016, Chris Hofmann claimed the vacant middleweight belt following a 2-round TKO win over John Adajar. The heavy hand striker has finished five of his last opponents by TKO or knockout.

Kenneth Rivera with the Champ

What's next for Chris Hofmann? Most definitely a URCC light heavyweight title defense. The next challenge we all looking forward.

The guy has amazing confidence. He took fight on short notice and happily accepted the move to 185. He trained, got in the best shape and won the middleweight title battle. And that hasn't stopped the fighter from wanting to be booked for the San Francsico fight to put on a show for his fans and fulfill his commitment to fight. Chris Hofmann's great work ethic and attitude will take him places.

Special shoutout to Mr. Kenneth Rivera who was at the event watching live and updating yours truly. Yes from US to PH! Pictures and videos were provided to me from him as well. Thank you.
