Lithuania was Too Big and Too Strong for Gilas Pilipinas, Breaking Down the Stats

Lithuania showed Gilas Pilipinas who the boss is, out playing the young team in almost all categories.

Gilas Pilipinas started the game well and led with 22 -17 at the end of the first quarter. Unfortunately, it will be the last time Philippines will get its taste of the lead as the Lithuanian used their size and shooting to give the Philippines its 3rd defeat in the Jones Cup tournament.

The loss means that they are less likely to finish on the podium, unless Canada, Lithuania, and South Korea, the top 3 teams now in the standing, also the  same 3 teams that beat the Philippines, suddenly start losing, which is very unlikely.

The Lithuanians were shooting very well at 77% from the 2 point line and 39% beyond the arc. They even doubled the 3-point production of the Philippines. Lithuania also gave the Philippines a tough time on the board as they grabbed 32 rebounds against 23 of the Philippines. But that wasn't all, the Lithuanians were also sharing the ball well with 19 assists against 8 of the Philippines.

Final Score 91 Lithuania - 80 Philippines.

The next game of the Philippines will be against India and Iran.

10 Hottest PBA Courtside Reporters

Will Lonzo Ball Ever Develop His Offensive Game?

In the Lakers' game against the Miami Heat, there were two plays that caught my attention. One was that outlet pass by LeBron James to an open Lonzo Ball who was open for a layup. No one was even close to defending Lonzo at the point and he chose to softly lay it in which […] MoreThe post Will Lonzo Ball Ever Develop His Offensive Game? appeared first on Powcast Sports.

Jayson Castro was already in the process of becoming the best point guard not just in the PBA but in all of Asia. Terrence Romeo to SMB: The Pros and Cons

It's already expected that Terrence Romeo would be playing for another team but it's not the team that everyone thought it will be. Potentially. Why potentially? As of writing, PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial has said that the PBA's four-man trade committee led by Erik Castro, the PBA technical supervisor, is still evaluating the trade proposal […] MoreThe post Terrence Romeo to SMB: The Pros and Cons appeared first on Powcast Sports.
