We just got the news that Bob Arum, Manny Pacquiao long time promoter is not happy with the Pay Per View result of the recent fight of Manny Pacquiao against Timothy Bradley. He was expecting 1.2 million buys instead it is way below that.
According to Bob:
"We're between 750,000 and 800,000. Sure, it's a disappointment," stated Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum, who recently revelaed the number of pay-per-view buys for last months rematch between previoiusly undefeated former champion Timothy Bradley and multi-division world champion Manny Pacquiao:
Bob and Top Rank did however said that the fight is still profitable and it surely is a much better result than the measly PPV performance of Rios vs Pacquiao match that was held in Macau, it only sold 475 buys.
"I'm telling you, it is what it is. The numbers are the numbers," Arum recently explained to ESPN.com. "The absence of Mexican or Hispanic opponent hurt.
Bob thinks that black people don't support their fighters? uhm excuse me?, so how about Floyd Mayweather jr, is he not black? Why is he so successful?
The Question now is:
Did you think Manny Pacquiao marketability have something to do with this result, Do you think he would still earn guarantee 20 million dollars fighting against Top Rank fighters?
The real questions:
Why can't he try other promotion? Why can't he fight other fighters that are more sellable like Floyd, which is never going to happen, so forgive me for even mentioning his name. Well Perhaps Golden Boy fighters like Canelo Alvarez, Broner, Amir Khan in UK, maybe? or Sergio Martinez.
What do you think?
