PCCL-NCC 3x3: UV Bags Visayas Leg Crown

Chairman Rey Gamboa awards Cash prize to University of Visayas 3x3 Players. The university of Visayas will fly to MANILA on February 2018 for the NATION GRAND FINALS of the PCCL 3x3 Cebu City – The University of Visayas Green Lancers outlasted 10 other teams from Cebu, Bohol, Dumaguete and Roxas City to become the kings of 3-on-3 basketball in the recently concluded 2017 PCCL-National Collegiate Championship 3x3 Visayas leg at the University of San Carlos Gym. UV players Jerome Napao, JosueSegumpan Jr., Jan MonicSoliva and Rey Anthony Suerte went undefeated in the elimination and playoff round before facing University of San Juan – RecoletosJarguars in the finals. Segumpan carried the Green Lancers’ scoring load by scoring 24 points while Suerte added 13 points to pin down USJ-R, 47-43. Musikaramay Basketball: 3x3 Para sa Marawi: Uniting Filipino through Music and Basketball to help rebuild Marawi.

The month of October marks the 4th year anniversary. Musikaramay or " musika na nakikiramay " is a community of people in the music industry wanting to be real-life superheroes through music. Also known as “busking for a cause”, Musikaramay goes around the metro setting up in public places to play for their chosen beneficiary. In 4 years, they have raised funds for the ff: • Yolanda Survivors in Palo, Leyte • Rehabilition for Zamboanga Children • SAF 44 • Kids with cancer at the National Children’s Hospital • Raincoats, boots and umbrella donations to indigenous kids in Subic As of the moment, we have 20 scholars at the Blessed Ville Special School in Cavite which came from donations during their performances in the streets of Manila. In celebration, Musikaramay will be staging the Musikaramay Basketball: 3x3 Para sa Marawi, a FIBA-endorsed Basketball League powered by Triple Threat Manila. PCCL LAUNCHES NATIONAL 3x3 CHAMPIONSHIP

Philippine Collegiate Champions League (PCCL) starts the first school-based National 3x3 Basketball Championship with the Visayas Regional Games on November 11, 2017, to be held at University of San Carlos Gym. Cebu City. Ten teams from Cebu, Bohol, Roxas City and Dumaguete City are participating in the competition. The winning school team of Visayas Regional games will earn a free trip to Manila with accommodation to compete in the National Grand Finals scheduled in February 2018. PCCL National 3x3 Collegiate Championship has four other regional games to be held at Naga (for South Luzon/Bicol), Dagupan (for North/Central Luzon), Davao (for Mindanao) and National Capital Region (NCR). The Regional Winners will compete in the Grand National Finals for the title of National 3x3 Collegiate Champion at Manila on February 2018. Lomé to host FIBA 3x3 Africa Cup 2017

LOME, Togo ( FIBA 3x3 Africa Cup 2017 ) - The first-ever edition of the FIBA 3x3 Africa Cup will take place in Lomé, Togo on November 3-5 2017. "We are proud and honored to become the first national federation to host the FIBA 3x3 Africa Cup", Togo National Basketball Federation President André Goungou said. "3x3 has become extremely popular in the country and we are confident that the local fans will come in numbers and create a special atmosphere for the delegations coming from all over the continent," Goungou added. 22 teams (12 men’s and 10 women’s) from 12 different countries will compete in the covered outdoor venue of the Stade Omnisport Eyadema de Lomé. MONGOLIA'S MEN AND AUSTRALIA'S WOMEN WIN FIBA 3x3 ASIA CUP 2017

FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup 2017 - Mongolia’s men and Australia’s women won gold in the second edition of the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup 2017 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia on October 29 2017. In their 1 st appearance at the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup, the Australian women left their mark as they went on an impressive 5-0 record at the Crocus Event Hall in the Mongolian capital. 16-year-old Isabell Bourne started her first game with only 1 point but from then on took off. She scored a total of 34 points throughout the tournament including 7 in a close semi-final match-up against China. The tournament MVP scored 8 in the final game and got a little help from Carlie Smith (7 points) for the win over Malaysia (21-15). China secured bronze in a win over India 21-16 thanks to tournament top scorer Jinxian Wang. PHILIPPINE COLLEGIATE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE Philippine Collegiate Champions League (PCCL) was organized to broaden the sports program of schools particularly collegiate basketball by providing more competitive activities that would benefit student-player development. Participating school basketball teams in various leagues in the provinces were clamoring for nationwide school-based tournaments that will involve teams from leagues in other provinces and regions. To answer this need for more competitive exposure extending beyond the confines of local mother league competition to broader provincial and regional levels tournaments, PCCL organized and managed the National Collegiate Championship. This is a nationwide multi-level collegiate basketball competition that recognizes and rewards regional champions and ultimately the overall national champion that emerge during the games.
