Tyler Matakevich, a senior linebacker at Temple, is now a finalist for the Chuck Bednarik award given annually to the nation's best defensive player in college football.
The other two finalists this season are Penn State's Carl Nassib and Alabama's Reggie Ragland.
The winner of the award will be announced December 10th.
Matakevich is the only FBS player this season to lead his team in tackles in every game and is a big reason the Owl's are 9-2 overall and 6-1 in the American Athletic Conference this season.
He is just the seventh FBS college football player to record at least 100 tackles in all four seasons of playing. He also leads the nation in interceptions among linebackérs with a career-high five this year. In 2015, he also has a career-high in sacks (4) and tackles for loss (11.5).
