Thomasian Ryan Joseph “Chinito Heartthrob” Syyap takes his game to new heights


In life as in every game, it takes guts and determination to overcome obstacles. Being an athlete and a student, this Thomasian is well aware
of that.

Born Ryan Joseph U. Syyap on July 4, 1996 to Mr. Feliciano Syyap and Ms. Lalaine Syyap, this 6-foot-1 forward plays for the College of Engineering for UST. He is now a 2nd year Electronics Communication Engineering student in the country’s
oldest university.

If there is an NBA player that he wants to play one-on-one with, it will
be the Black Mamba Kobe Bryant. “He is a player who is hard to guard”, said Ryan. His favorite shot is elbow jumper. His career high is 14 points, and this year was his first time to join the NBA 3x at Mall of
Asia Music Hall.

“I feel so privileged to be part of this annual event. Hope we can  play  and be better next year”, said Ryan NBA 3x was held at Mall of Asia Music Hall and was graced by NBA players that include Denver Nuggets’ Kenneth Faried and San Antonio Spurs’ Danny Green.
