Anthony Woes In Knicks' Victory over Celtics
New York Knicks earned their 20th victory of the season, after beating Boston Celtics 114-120 at Madison Square Garden, New York, January 12th 2016. Unfortunately, Knicks' star Carmelo Anthony had to leave the game early at the second quarter. After having a contact with a referee at the game, Anthony fell and looked he was in pain but he kept playing. Anthony could not move properly due to the injury, and he left the court. The medical check unveiled that he sprained his ankle, but good thing is that the X-rays showed negative result.
Without Anthony, Latvian forward Kristaps Porzingis stepped up in the game by scoring 26 points for the Knicks, along with 6 boards and 2 blocks. Aaron Afflalo contributed 24 points as well. Before he was carried out, Anthony made 17 points for the team.
Meanwhile, Celtics' top scorer was Isaiah Thomas, who scored 34 points. Currently, The Knicks are 20-20, and The Celtics are 19-19. The Knicks will play arch-rival Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center tomorrow night, and The Celtics are going to host Indiana Pacers, also tomorrow night.
