Spurs' Streak Remains; Wins Game Versus Cavaliers
San Antonio Spurs' winning streak remains, after hosting Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers and came up victorious 95-99, January 14th 2016. This is the Spurs' 32nd home game winning streak, and yes, they are yet to lose in 2016 at their very own AT&T Center
The Spurs' defense played an important role in this game, as they forced Cavaliers to make 18 turnovers. Trailing by 15 in the opening quarter, Spurs eventually came together and played effectively on both offense and defense and as a result, they won the tight game.
Tony Parker was the star of the night, noting 24 points for the winner, while Kawhi Leonard had 20 points and 10 boards plus performed a stellar defense on Lebron James all game. Lebron was only 9 out of 17, and finished with 22 points at the game.
Cavaliers' center, Tristan Thompson scored 18 points and 14 boards, while JR Smith noted 17 points on his name. Kyrie Irving, who took off the last time Cavaliers visited Spurs by scoring his all-time high 57 points, only had 16 points tonight, thanks to Spurs' effective defense.
Even with this loss, Cavaliers are still the number 1 on Eastern Conference, and Spurs remain trailing the Warriors at number 2 on Western Conference.
On Friday, Cavaliers with play James Harden and co. at Houston, while Spurs will have Mavericks at San Antonio on Saturday.
