RAINMEN vs MANGO
It has been a close ball game between team RAINMEN and team MANGO .
Neither of the teams wanted to end their campaign especially team Mango which consists of players from General trias Cavite.
The first quarter ended with the score of 30-23 in favor team MANGO. It was more of an inside game for team MANGO while team RAINMEN relied on their outside shooting.
Team MANGO's familiarity and solid team chemistry was indeed a factor as they share the ball and locate the guy who has the higher percentage shot, most of their scores came from a drive to the basket and inside the paint.
The RAINMEN on the other hand displayed a pretty decent outside shooting. Just like the weather they went "scorching hot" outside hitting back to back 3 point baskets and cut the lead to just 3, down to the last 4 minutes of the second quarter. Team MANGO immediately adjusted their defensive game as i over heard in the huddle, they would rather give a space going to the basket than an open three. With the adjustment the Team Mango preserved the lead 58-52 at the half..
It was sort of like a chess match between the the two teams. In the 3rd quarter RAINMEN were a little bit more active inside, there was even an and 1 play courtesy of number 21. More balanced game for RAINMEN in the 3rd period. There were baskets made inside but still their bread and butter the 3 point shooting was still on! courtesy of the "Rain Bomber" number 8 who made a 3 point basket off a lose ball scuffle with 2mins left in the 3rd period. The lead was cut to a single point 71-70.
But team MANGO still in favor 75-73, end of 3rd period.
With 7 minutes left in the last quarter, the "Ripe Mango" number 23 R. Rosales scored a sweet and 1 play. The game is obviously getting more intense at this stage, a technical foul was called on RAINMEN's number 17 while MANGO's no 2 basket was counted and the technical free throw went in by Rosales. Team Mango was ahead of 9pts down to the last a 1:58 seconds.
Team MANGO's consistent high percentage basket and several fast break plays helped them secure the 2nd round spot. The game ended with the score of 97-87.
Best player of the game was J.R. Rosales whit one if not the most impressive stats in the entire season. 36Points, 20 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 blocks.
