The Minnesota Timberwolves had made their biggest move this season by hiring Tom Thibodeau as their head coach and president of basketball. Thibodeau and the team is now looking to sign Joakim Noah in free agency.
According to reports, the 2014 defensive player of the year told his teammates in Chicago that he isn't going to resign with the team. Noah was fallen out of coach Fred Hoiberg's front court rotation for the Bulls due to injury and with the resurgence of rookie Bobby Portis and Nikola Mirotic.
After averaging 12.6 points, 11.3 rebounds, 5,4 assists, 1,2 steals and 1.5 blocks in the 2013-2014 season, his best season in the NBA, Noah just averaged 4.3 points, 8.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists, .6 steals and a block in just 21.9 minutes per game this season with Hoiberg as their coach. This season marks his lowest minutes logged in per game since his rookie season.
The two -time NBA all star and two-time NBA all defensive first team is expected to provide the leadership for the young team of Minnesota. With the front court of Nemanja Bejelica, Gorgui Dieng, Karl Anthony Towns and Joakim Noah, the Timberwolves will be having a towering presence in the coming years. Noah hopes to be back in his all star form with new team this coming season.
