United Cup XII: Warlito Parrenas and Richard Claveras comeback fights!
Former WBO Super flyweight world title challenger/former WBO Oriental champion Warlito Parrenas and former WBC light flyweight world title challenger/ former WBC International light flyweight champion Richard Claveras are making a comeback and will see action in an United International Promotion fight card at Barangay Poblacion in Mandaluyong City on June 10. Both boxers are former world title challengers and both possessed heavy hands (Parrenas with 66% KO percentage and Claveras owns 67% KO percentage)
Parrenas (24W- 7L-1D,21KO's) will face journey man Roilo Golez (15W-15L-1D,6KOs) as the co main event .Warlito "Wars" Parrenas won the WBO Oriental title by 6th round Technical Decision over Indonesian Junior Bajawa on June 7,2014 and defended the title twice before fighting for the WBO "interim" Super flyweight title against Mexican David Carmona last year July 4 in Sonora Mexico. Parrenas scores knockdown but only manages a draw which is a highly controversial decision. Parrenas' last fight was against Japanese phenom Naoya Inoue last December for the WBO Super flyweight title but Warlito Parrenas was no match for Naoya Inoue, being stopped in two rounds in Tokyo, Japan while Golez is Regional title fights veteran who fought outside the country 7 times almost for the Regional title belts. Golez's record is (1W-6L) outside the country.
The main event of the fight card is between Richard Claveras (14W-2L-2D,12KO's) and Juan Purisima (11W-8L-1D,4KO's). Claveras is coming off Unanimous Decision defeat against Jonathan Refugio to lost his WBC International title last February 20. Claveras suffered his first defeat by the way of 1st round body shot KO last April 11 2015 in Sinaloa Mexico for the WBC world light flyweight title. Purisima is a former Philippine champion and coming off 5 fights losing streak.
