Mavericks Could Add Wing Depth, Intends to Sign Barnes after Offering Him a Max Deal
A day after letting Chandler Parsons leave and sign a max deal to Memphis Grizzlies, the Dallas Mavericks made a headline by agreeing to terms with Harrison Barnes in a Four-Year, $95 million deal.
Despite a poor performance in the 2016 NBA finals which Barnes and the Warriors lost against the Cavaliers in 7 games, Barnes is getting his wish to sign a max contract after having a great regular season averaging 11.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 30.9 minutes per game.
The Warriors have a chance to match the contract of Barnes but they will find themselves in difficulty trying to match the max contract offered by the Mavericks to the one-time NBA champion.
Barnes is only 24 years old and has a lot of room for development. He is one of the rising stars of the league. NBA analysts believe that he is only overshadowed by the Warriors big three of Green, Thompson and Curry.
