Pinoy boxer Jether "The General" Oliva (24-5-2,11) will battle for the vacant WBC Silver flyweight title against ex amateur stand out Muhammad Wasseem (3-0,3) of Pakistan at Millennium Hilton Hotel, Seoul in Seoul, South Korea.
Oliva under Sanman Promotions is a two time world title challenger. He first fought for the world title last year 2011 against Ulises Solis for the IBF world title but he lost via decision and his second attempt was last March 2014 when he fought Mruthi Mthalane for the IBO title but again he was defeated by the defending champion in close fight. Oliva is a battle tested boxer who fought world caliber boxer like Zolani Tete,Pedro Guevarra and Mthalane.
Waseem whose record is 3wins all via stoppages with no defeat is in fast track to battle for the Silver title. He was a former amatuer stand out and currently training under Jeff Mayweather in Las Vegas.
Back in April the fight was supposedly for the WBC Asian Boxing Coucil but the WBC changes it to a WBC Silver title fight. The vacant Silver title was last held by Omari Kimweri, who vacated it after a controversial win against Randy Petalcorin. The winner will be ranked within 1-4 and will get a chance to fight for the WBC flyweight world title currently held by Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez of Nicaragua.
