UFC Manila 2016 updates




The octagon is heading back to Manila for the second straight year. UFC Fight Night Manila 2 which is scheduled on the 15th of October, will take place at the Mall of Asia Arena, the same venue that hosted the first UFC fight night event in the country. This will be the lone UFC fight card in Asia for 2016.

The event will be headlined by a comeback fight of UFC Hall of Famer B.J. Penn who'll go up against Ricardo Lamas. Both fighters are coming off a loss. Lamas was recently defeated by Max Holloway via unanimous decision at UFC 199 while Penn is coming off a 3 fight losing streak.

Here's a list of the fight cards confirmed for UFC Manila 2:

Main Event: Ricardo Lamas vs B.J. Penn

Co-Main Event: Derrick Lewis vs Marcin Tybura

Kyoji Horiguchi vs Ali Bagautinov

Seo Hee Ham vs Danielle Taylor

The card, at the ProBox TV Events Center in Plant City, Florida, is led by two featherweights attempting to climb the rankings Angelo Leo (23-1, 11 KOs), who trains out of Las Vegas, Nevada, made weight at 125.8 lbs. His opponent, Eduardo Baez (23-5-2, 9 KOs), came in slightly lighter at 125.4 lbs. They will contest a 10-round main event. Leo is a former WBO super-bantamweight champion. He is riding a three-fight winning streak; his past two fights were broadcast on ProBox TV. Leo is ranked seventh by the WBA and 13th by the IBF. Philippines to Host SEA Trail Running Cup, Elevates Bid to Become Asian Trail Running Destination

  The Philippines is gearing up to welcome Southeast Asia's trail running elites as it prepares to host the prestigious Southeast Asian Trail Running Cup in the locale of Bontoc, Mountain Province, from June 19-23, 2024. Tin Ferrera, secretary-general of Philtra and Head for the Southeast Asian Trail Running Confederation, expressed her excitement about bringing the biennial competition to the country.  "We, as Philtra, and our athletes have joined the World Mountain Trail Running Championships and other big events outside the region and across Asia and we believe it’s time we show what we have.
